From 20th Nov 2023, there will be a change in consultation Gap Charges (please see the table below).
We operate as a Mixed Billing practice, incorporating both Bulk and Private Billing
 
Patients with concession cards
Bulk Billing is still available for the following: –
1.       Pension and Concession Card holders
2.       Repatriation Gold Card holders
3.       Children less than 16 years of age
 
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION:
Special consideration given to patients experiencing financial difficulty – please discuss this with your doctor.

Length of consultation

Normal consultation is around 10 minutes with a few minutes for the doctor to enter notes. Therefore, when some patients extend their consultation over the scheduled time and when medical emergencies happen, doctors usually run a little late. So, we appreciate your cooperation by asking the reception staff to book you double appointments if you feel you have multiple or complex issues.

New to our practice?

Please download our “New Patient Registration Form (Northern Clinic) or New Patient Registration Form (Flory HealthCare) fill it up, and bring it along at your appointment time.
This shall reduce your waiting time upon arrival. Please do not forget to bring your Medicare Card, Healthcare Card/Concession Card, Private health fund, and a photo ID (eg, driving license, student ID, or passport).

Repeat Scripts

For those patients on ongoing medications, we offer walk-in script appointments. Please ring the clinic beforehand to advise the reception staff of the medication you are after (name of medications & doses).

Walk-in patients

Depending on the medical need and urgency, we offer walk-in appointments to our patients. Please expect longer waiting time as doctors will squeeze you in between patients who have already booked appointments.

Results

It’s very important to follow up about your results after you have done the test. So, it’s always best that you book a follow up appointment with your doctor one week later from the time of initiating the investigations, unless instructed otherwise by your doctor.  Thank you for not asking for results over the phone, it is always recommended to book an appointment with your doctor to discuss your lab results.

Non attendance of an appointment

We require at least 2 hours notice of cancellation if you are unable to attend your appointment. Whilst we do understand that emergencies and unforeseen circumstances arise from time to time, failure to advise us in a sufficient time may result in a $15 fee being charged to your account; which needs to be paid before your next consultation.

Referrals and Letters

Referrals/Letters/Forms require an appointment with your GP.

Privacy

Your medical record is a confidential document and we are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your personal health information at all times. Therefore, only those authorized, and only whenever required, can access this information. Also, be assured that your information will not be disclosed or shared with any third party without your signed consent.

Phone Calls to Doctors

Because the doctors are always busy consulting, it is rarely that you can speak to your doctor via telephone directly. If you need medical assistance, you can request to speak to one of our nurses. Otherwise, making an appointment is the best way to get in contact with your doctor.

Mobile Phones

Whilst in the waiting area or with your doctor, we request that mobile phones be switched OFF or placed on silent. Your doctor has the right to immediately end your consultation should you choose to answer your phone during consultation.

Reminder/Recall system

We at Northern Clinic are committed to promoting preventative healthcare; therefore and on regular basis, we mail out our patients with some reminder letters to advise them when they are due for any relevant preventative health services. This is a courtesy reminder and if you wish not to be included in this recall/reminder system, please advise our reception staff.
